One Italian animal welfare charity just celebrated its 10th anniversary in the cutest way ever: by staging an Alice in Wonderland-themed photoshoot, featuring the laboratory-rescued critters as characters from the cherished story.
The idea, hatched from the mind of Attilia Conti, a volunteer at La Collina deiConigli rescue center, was based upon the revelation that the story and the shelter shared a similar beginning – both started with a White Rabbit.
For the shoot, photographed by amateur photographer Rachele Totaro, the animals became bona fide models, posing in elaborate scenes inspired by the novel-turned-Disney movie.
In addition to being an adorable way to celebrate the shelter’s anniversary, the images also serve as a sort of catalog for those seeking to adopt a small animal.
Some of the pictures were even included in La Collina deiConigli’s annual calendar, the proceeds of which are used to support the charity’s rescue efforts.
